There is a major trend towards virtual worlds in emerging technologies. I like Murdoch Universities take on Second Life. I think it would be a great idea to further our 23 Things program by including an introductory workshop on learning how to get around Second Life. Second life is still young and I think in time and with future technologies, Second Life will become part of the Libraries future.

Love them!! Have subscribed to 2 rss feeds where I can listen to podcasts. They are Hamish and Andy and The Matt and Joe show. Also found another site called “citypod, the podcast about cool stuff in Melbourne” which is viewed through YouTube. Have fun with this I did.
This is my favorite You Tube library clip. It is called Interval Library.
This was tricky to begin with but after some cutting and pasting mission accomplished. I posted a picture of Joe and Roxy. Yes Joe’s eyes are on my Weblog.
Libraries have provided a constant service to loyal patrons. With a world that is rapidly evolving technically Google have provided their users with the opportunities and tools to expand their methods of obtaining information. Library 2.0 uses these tools to gather information so we can provide relevant services and expand our patronage.
The basic drive is to get people back into the library by making the library relevant to what they want and need in their daily lives…to make the library a destination and not an afterthought.” by Sarah Houghton
When I first glanced at this title I thought it was some kind of fantastic recipe book. Well I did find recipes on there, but it was so much more. With the touch of a button a list of pages relating to my requested subjects appeared before me. I was able to browse these pages and bookmark my favorites. I was also able to follow other user’s trails to new and unchartered pages.
Life is just one big Google!!! Had a ball creating my I Google homepage. So many things to see and add. Would I work at Google? Nope!! With all the added extras when do they work. Maybe thats the answer! Creating a relaxed lay back environment means more productivity is achieved. Maybe Google is paving the way for all workplaces. Google Workplace less work, better productivity.
