There is a major trend towards virtual worlds in emerging technologies. I like Murdoch Universities take on Second Life. I think it would be a great idea to further our 23 Things program by including an introductory workshop on learning how to get around Second Life. Second life is still young and I think in time and with future technologies, Second Life will become part of the Libraries future.

Libraries themselves are agreeing with you. There is a substantial base of librarians using SL, they’ve formed groups, and have at least one region dedicated to info exchange. And the Cleveland Public Library has an entire region to themselves, complete with exhibits from the John White Collection, four gigantic chessboards you can play a game on with an opponent, and various other paraphernalia. The coordinates escape me, but Search them up; they launched just a few weeks ago.
